Nukutaurua continues to host approximately 400 seals in their annual general meeting held at White Rock. The young pups are basking in the sun whilst the adults get to the business of finding the best spot to enjoy the day sunbathing on the limited estate facilities. Some share their afternoon with the local farming community on the banks of the beach while others consider the rock to be the Ritz of the seal accommodation 'de excellence'. As we wandered through the colony there seemed little to disturb the proceedings and even less interest. It continues to be a great privilege to see the colony in their natural habitat.
